Discover the powerful stories of ordinary people who risked everything to help others during one of history's darkest periods. Between Life and Death: Stories of Rescue during the Holocaust is an international exhibition exploring acts of courage, compassion and humanity during the Second World War.
Through the experiences of rescuers and survivors from fifteen European countries, visitors can learn about the difficult choices faced by individuals living under Nazi occupation and the extraordinary actions taken to save lives.
Produced by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) in partnership with the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Silent Heroes Memorial Centre in Berlin, the exhibition places personal stories within their wider historical context, helping visitors understand both the dangers faced by those in hiding and the sacrifices made by those who offered help.
First presented in Brussels in 2018 and subsequently displayed in more than twenty cities worldwide, the exhibition comes to Newark as part of the town's continuing links with Holocaust remembrance and international friendship.
