Threading Stories Of The Past

About

Join us as we talk about the life of Zdenka Husserl and other children who survived the Holocaust and travelled over to England to a children’s home. Lingfield House was a place that, with the support of peers and community, helped to heal unimaginable suffering.  Here at Lingfield House – Zdenka and other children learnt, relaxed, played and healed. They embroidered a tablecloth showing their happiest moments in 1948. The tablecloth is part of our collection and available to view in The Journey. Why not take a look before or after the embroidery workshop?  We will explore this original artefact, whilst threading the stories from the past to create your own personal embroidered patch. Your patch will capture the joys of your and your family’s life.  No sewing experience necessary. Suitable for multigenerational families. Age 9+ This event is included within your admission ticket
